Project Description

Epi Center International conducted an Evaluation of the Project "Income Increase and Socio-Economic Empowerment of Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups from Rural and Sub-urban Areas (IISEE)", which in the period from 2021 to 2023 was implemented by the organization We Effect. The project is financed by SIDA, and implemented in North Macedonia by We Effect Skopje as a subsidiary of the international organization We Effect, based in Stockholm.

The aim of the project is to implement the MSD (market systems development) methodology and aims to strengthen the capacities of partner organizations that WeEffect supports in their development. As part of the Evaluation, 30 interviews were held in March 2024, with various representatives for the implementation of the project, with the aim of identifying processes that can be improved in the further phases of the project.

Based on a comprehensive analysis, several recommendations were created for further activities of the project, as well as focused support and implementation of the MSD approach in North Macedonia.

The We Effect office in North Macedonia is focused on promoting self-sustainable models of activities, for agriculture and rural development. We Effect works with local partner organizations that are member-based and represent the voice of smallholder farmers and other vulnerable groups. Gender equality, improving the conditions for Roma integration, etc., are also part of the organization's work
