Implementing marketing campaign for raising climate change awareness

Project Description

For this assignment the team of EPI CENTAR has prepared a comprehensive marketing plan, with the aim to implement a six-month awareness raising campaign for climate changes. Guided by the campaign slogan “The climate is changing, so why aren't you?” EPI CENTAR has significantly increased the number of users of the web site www.klimatskipromeni.mk.

By posting regular educational content, interviews with climate heroes and various engaging activities (designing competition, filming short videos, using interactive platforms for asking #ClimateQuestions) the platform is growing into well-recognizable brand for obtaining relevant information in the field of environment protection and climate change. The project is especially focused in engaging the young people as the future climate leaders, promoting #ClimateActions in the household and in the workplace and discussing policies and initiatives that could be undertaken by the public sector in the country.

Main target groups in the project are:

  • Households (Propose a set of tools, channels and messages that will motivate citizens to reduce energy and water consumption and make more climate-friendly decisions in their everyday lives; e.g. type of food they consume, type of cars they drive; use of public transport)
  • Private Sector (Propose a set of tools, channels and messages that will motivate private sector to undertake more climate-friendly and climate-resilient business operations, by better understanding the benefits of implementing climate-friendly business policies by introducing more sustainable business practices and being more corporate socially responsible).
  • Students and pupils (Propose a set of tools, channels and messages that will help elementary schools, high schools and universities’ students become more active citizens and be more aware of how they can contribute to making a difference).
  • Civil Society Organizations (Propose a set of tools, channels and messages that will help civil society amplify their voice to reach a larger group of citizens) 
  • Municipalities (Propose a set of tools, channels and messages that will help municipality representatives be more aware about the causes and effects of climate change and their role in proposing solutions at local policy level);

The project activities are funded by UNDP and implemented in cooperation with the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning.
