CARE International Balkans contracted EPI CENTAR International to increase the knowledge of NEA staff and their capacity to support farmers and agricultural holdings, CARE engaged one local Short-Term Expert to organize a Training of Trainers  for Business Plan Development, as two three-days workshops, for the representatives of 30 NEA’s offices from the entire country. The core staff of NEA’s offices will be trained in development of business plans and provision of this expertise as service, either to agricultural cooperatives or farmers willing to apply for various sources of funding in future. Additionally, each NEA staff trained by CARE will have the task to transfer the knowledge to their offices, so that the entire Agency is capacitated to offer support services.

The main goal of the training was to familiarize participants about content and process of preparation of business plan. The participants supposed to be trained in this workshop, to the extent that understand the logic and need for preparation of the business plan as a business planning tool and how to apply knowledge when discussing biasness plan with the clients or in case of supporting clients in development of their business plan. For this purpose the course was structured in the way that participants learn about each part of business plan from the trainer and then apply the gained knowledge with concrete case study.

The assignment had these specific goals:

• Preparation of the training program and training materials.
• Preparation and delivery of six days Training of Trainers for National Extension Agency staff (two sessions, three days each scheduled for July 2021).
• Monitoring of the process of the participants’ transfer of knowledge to other NEA staff (through follow up of their reporting).
